Interactive Ground Water (IGW)
نویسندگان
چکیده
IGW is a software environment for real-time 2D and 3D groundwater modeling. The software functions as a ‘‘numerical laboratory’’ in which the modeler can freely explore: visually creating an aquifer of desired configurations and then immediately investigating and visualizing the groundwater system. IGW allows the modeler’s thought processes to progress naturally and intuitively with the information visualized, overlaid, and compared at the instant it is required for analysis, providing a real sense of continuous active exploration and engaged problem solving. 2005 Elsevier Ltd. A real-time, interactive steering environment for integrated ground water modeling.
We present in this note an innovative software environment, called Interactive Ground Water (IGW), for unified deterministic and stochastic ground water modeling. Based on efficient computational algorithms, IGW allows simulating three-dimensional (3D) unsteady flow and transport in saturated media subject to systematic and "random" stresses and geological and chemical heterogeneity. Adopting a...
متن کاملIGW/DL: A Digital Library for Teaching and Learning Hydrogeology and Groundwater Modeling
Introduction Since the advent of the Internet era and the World Wide Web, teaching and learning has no doubt become easier and resources more accessible. Currently, there is a wealth of useful information freely available online for teaching and learning hydrogeology and groundwater modeling. However, few are as well designed and visually compelling as an educational digital library (DL) called...
متن کاملMining lakes as groundwater-dominated hydrological systems: assessment of the water balance of Mining Lake Plessa 117 (Lusatia, Germany) using stable isotopes
In the present study, the stable isotopes υ18O and υ2H were used for assessment of the water balance in a heterogeneously structured catchment area in the Lusatian Lignite Mining District, in particular, for estimation of the annual groundwater inflow and outflow (IGW and OGW) of Mining Lake Plessa 117. The application of stable isotopes was possible since the water exchange in the catchment ar...

متن کاملAn Efficient Load Balancing Scheme for Multi-Gateways in Wireless Mesh Networks
In Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs), we usually deploy multiple Internet Gateways (IGWs) to improve the capacity of WMNs. As most of the traffic is oriented towards the Internet and may not be distributed evenly among different IGWs, some IGWs may suffer from bottleneck problem. To solve the IGW bottleneck problem, we propose an efficient scheme to balance the load among different IGWs within a WM...
